Self-Healing Scheme for the Networks of Power Systems

Due to the development of internet of things, cyber-attacks will be occurring at a greater rate and toward a wider verity of devices, each with its own specific type of vulnerability. Detection and mitigation of such cyber-attacks take time for network engineers to discover and resolve and since there are far more hackers than there are network engineers to repair and resolve attacks in such an environment, an efficient way is desired to find how to resolve cyber-attacks. This paper presents a self-mitigation scheme for flooding attacks that occur on the network of a demo cyber physical power systems with the implementation being done using only opensource ware applications and devices. It will contain discussions regarding the nature of flooding attacks on a cyber physical device, and hping3, a common flooding attack command, operates. Lastly, a discussion of future endeavors for those wishing to improve upon this project.
