dc.description 2.4 - Assessment Instruments en
dc.description.abstract Assessments need to be varied, sequenced, and appropriate for the work be assessed. Rubrics are are a great way to make sure students know exactly how they will be assessed on given classworks. A forum posting may be assessed differently than a formal essay. Thus proper rubrics and grading structures need to be properly described. Many rubrics are freely available online at various sites such as the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment, and Cornell University Teaching of Excellence. If a rubric is not appropriate for a specific assignment then clear breakdowns of grading must be listed. If no clear rubric or assessment instructions are noted for a particular work assignment then this objective would not be met. en
