dc.description.abstract	This is a small snapshot of what the instructor sends out in a welcome email (and also places inside the course) at least two weeks prior to the course start date. This allows students to log in and familiarize themselves with the course and course navigation. It also helps students to understand the expectations, workload, time commitment, group work details, contact information, and the "rhythm" for a typical week. Students are also asked to set up their own blog as part of the course requirement.	en
