Energy harvesting for underwater acoustic sensor network applications
Underwater sensor nodes are used for collecting oceanographic data, monitoring pollution, and for various surveillance implementations [1]. To make these applications viable, there is a need to enable underwater communications among underwater devices. An adjustable number of sensors and vehicles are installed that allows to achieve collective monitoring data over a specified area. One of the biggest challenge in the design of Underwater Acoustic Networks is battery power, which is limited and usually batteries cannot be recharged.
